About 51 per cent of the UT’s households are located in urban areas. As with most other states, however, the bulk of the Rich (around 55 per cent) live in urban areas. While 26 per cent of the UT’s Destitute live in urban areas, this is an improvement from 2015-16. Of those who live in urban areas, the largest share lives in towns with populations of less than a million people.
