About 35 per cent of the state’s households is located in urban areas. As with most other states, however, the bulk of the Rich (around 61 per cent) live in urban areas and Andhra’s cities appear to have become more prosperous. Nearly 8 per cent of the state’s Destitute live in urban areas. Of those who live in urban areas, the largest share lives in towns of less than a million people.
