Lakshadweep is one of the country’s average-growth states and there has been only a marginal shift in its income demographics between 2015-16 and 2020- 21. The proportion of Aspirer households has decreased by 4 per cent and the proportion of Middle Class has gone up from 50 to 52 per cent. Not surprisingly, the UT has maintained its ranking (36th) in all income categories as well total households.
