Change in Household Density by Income Categories- Karnataka

There is a marginal increase in the share of Rich households, in 2015-16, Karnataka was home to 2.8 per cent of all Rich households and this rose to 4.1 per cent in 2020-21. There has been marginal growth in the density of Rich sub-groups - against a 0.3 per cent share of Super Rich families in the state in 2015-16, the figure is 0.6 per cent for 2020-21, for instance. The Rich sub-segments and the Middle Class have grown marginally above the national average between 2015-16 and 2020-21. Karnataka’s Super Rich households increased by 12 per cent annually between 2015-16 and 2020- 21 compared to the national average of 11.3 per cent. Sheer Rich households grew at an annual increase of 10.5 per cent followed by the Clear Rich’ (9.5 per cent) and Near Rich (7.3 per cent). The Destitute households registered a decline (1.6 per cent per annum) during the same period.
